We're not parking the bus like Mourinho - Siasia

Dream Team Vi coach Samson Siasia has said he would not ‘park the bus’ when his side face the Zambian U23 team in the All Africa Games final qualifier this weekend in Lusaka according to REPORTS

The Nigeria U23 coach says he plans to attack but admits they must defend ‘smartly’.

The sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg in Abuja over two weeks ago, and the Nigerians must get an outright win or a score draw to be guaranteed a place at the All Africa Games in Congo. But another scoreless draw will mean the tie is decided on penalties and Siasia says he isn’t going to Zambia to play ultra-defensive tactics.

“We are not going to Zambia to play a defensive tactics. We are an attacking side and we will go there to attack. We will not park the bus like Mourinho,” he said with a knowing smile.

However, whatever tactics he hopes to employ, Siasia acknowledges they must also defend smartly.

“Even though we are an attacking team, we must also defend smartly. We’re going to a hostile environment and we must be disciplined and avoid playing unnecessary offside traps which could cost us.

“But our mission is clear; which is to win there and that we hope to do,” he added.

The Nigerian U23’s defeated an amateur side The Abuja Football College 2-0 in their last warm-up game before travelling to Lusaka.
