Inter will check on the fitness of defender Miranda ahead of the derby against rivals Milan at San Siro on Sunday.
The 31-year-old had to be replaced by Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos just 23 minutes into Brazil's 4-1 international friendly victory over United States on Tuesday and will undergo tests when he has returned to his club.
Miranda played the full 90 minutes as Inter won both of their opening two Serie A matches of the new campaign following a busy close-season in the transfer market.
His absence would come as a big blow as Roberto Mancini’s men prepare to face Milan, a team they have not beaten in any of their last four meetings.
"Unfortunately I took a knock to the knee and I had to go off," Miranda told reporters after Brazil's win.
"I am told it is a problem with the medial collateral ligament. Now I will carry out tests at Inter to understand the extent of the injury.
"I don’t think it's anything serious, but I still don't know for sure. For now I will work with my club and I will certainly do everything to be ready for the upcoming games."
Opponents Milan have three points from their opening two fixtures of 2015-16.
It's hardly been a vintage year for either club as Inter are 10th and Milan ninth.
It's highly unlikely that the city of Milan will be represented in Europe next season and all they have left to play for is local pride in tonight's big showdown.
The 'visitors' come into the game in slightly better form having taken nine points from their last six outings. Their two wins came within their three most recent fixtures as they beat both Cagliari and Palermo, before drawing with Sampdoria on Sunday.
Inter were victors last weekend as they put in a rare good performance to win 3-0 at Hellas Verona. That was their first victory since February as following a trio of wins that month, they were beaten by Fiorentina and Sampdoria, and held by Napoli, Cesena and Parma.
It's the goal statistics that concern us today though and recent history suggests that there won't be too many scored. The last five scorelines between the pair were 1-1, 1-0, 1-0, 1-1 and 0-1.
Things look even better when we take into account Roberto Mancini's sides last five home results in Serie A - 0-1, 3-0, 0-1, 1-1 and 1-1. And while four of Milan's last five on the road had three goals or more, it's worth remembering that this match is being played in their home stadium, where three of their last five finished with the net bulging only twice.
The market is struggling to split overs and unders for this game but the stats are heavily favouring the latter. That's why, with over 2.5 goals trading at around the [1.99] mark.
Inter halted a run of seven matches without a win in all competitions by claiming a 3-0 Serie A victory at Verona.
Coach Roberto Mancini had warned in the week that "simply being Inter" was not enough to ensure success and that his side would need to put in more effort than their opponents to reap the rewards.
And the former Manchester City boss could have few complaints on Saturday, as a bright start in each half yielded two unanswered goals.
Inter's first came courtesy of Mauro Icardi – returning from suspension – although Verona felt play should have been halted for an injury to Panagiotis Tachtsidis on the edge of the box.
Verona pushed for a leveller but lacked quality in the final third, and Rodrigo Palacio finished from close range three minutes into the second half to give Mancini's side breathing space.
Luca Toni saw a late penalty saved by Samir Handanovic - who has kept out six of the last seven spot-kicks he has faced in Serie A - and Verona's evening went from bad to worse when Vangelis Moras scored an own goal in stoppage time.
Inter started the match visibly determined to end their disappointing run, and Fredy Guarin felt he should have been awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box when he went down under the challenge of Jacopo Sala in the opening few minutes.
The visitors continued to press and their 11th-minute opener came in controversial circumstances.
A Tachtsidis slip in the build-up had left the midfielder stricken on the edge of the box, but Inter played on and Palacio's cross deflected off Eros Pisano into the path of Icardi, who applied a simple finish.
Verona were enraged but despite growing into the game as the half progressed, they failed to really test Inter goalkeeper Handanovic.
Inter could easily have been two up at half-time, but Marcelo Brozovic pulled wide of the left-hand post after being played in by Palacio.
It did not take long for Mancini's men to make amends after the interval, though, as an incisive counter-attack ended with Palacio poking home from an Icardi cross.
Mounir Obbadi unleashed a shot that squirmed through a host of Inter defenders to be punched away by Handanovic, who then rose to his feet to deny Moras seconds later.
With time running out, Verona saw penalty appeals for an alleged Nemanja Vidic handball turned down, before Palacio missed a chance to put the result beyond doubt when he struck a post at the other end.
That squandered opportunity looked set to be punished when Verona were awarded a penalty with 14 minutes left to play - Vidic somewhat harshly penalised for a coming together with Javier Saviola.
However, Toni saw his effort expertly saved by spot-kick specialist Handanovic and Verona’s misery was compounded by a late own goal from Moras, who turned in a Danilo D’Ambrosio cross.
Inter travel to the Stadio Bentegodi to take on Hellas Verona on Saturday night (kick off 20:45 CET) on the back of a horrible performance against Parma which triggered a chorus of boos and whistles from the fans.
That 1-1 draw also seen the players punished by coach Roberto Mancini, who made the team come in for training on their Easter holiday. It has also been said that if Inter don’t win this game then the players will be doing double training sessions everyday in the lead up to next week’s Milan derby.
The Coppa Italia Final will be contested by Lazio and Juventus, so that will surely grant 6th position in Serie A, a place in the Europa League. Unfortunately Inter are 9 points off 6th place Napoli and with Inter not winning in their last 7 matches in all competitions, the Europa League looks out of reach.
Hellas Verona come into this match after a 3-3 draw at home to Cesena. This was a match that Verona led 3-0 in but 3 goals in 10 second half minutes saw Cesena leave the Bentegodi with a point.
Maybe it is no surprise to see Verona in the bottom half of the table after they overachieved last season but they can beat anyone on their day as last month they beat Napoli, this coming a week after they drew 2-2 with Milan at the San Siro.
With 9 games left Verona are 11 points clear of the relegation zone and are looking safe.
